Davenports Law acquires Mahon & Sumpter.

We are continuing to expand our practice and are delighted to announce that we have recently acquired the practice of Mahon & Sumpter lawyers, bringing together two of the North Shore’s longest-serving firms. This amalgamation took effect on 1 November 2017, and our newly combined team works from the Davenports Law office in Rosedale.

We believe that both brands are an excellent fit as we are both longstanding North Shore firms with similar visions and values. Like Davenports (est. 1920), Mahon & Sumpter has a rich history and was founded over 50 years ago by partners Bryan Mahon and Michael Sumpter. Both solicitors were acknowledged as leading experts in their field during their time practising, and together built a highly reputable firm. Bryan Mahon retired in 2014, and Michael Sumpter has since continued on as the Principal of the firm.

While Michael Sumpter has decided to withdraw from full-time work, we are very pleased that he will remain with the firm as a Consultant. Michael's daughter, Kristin Sumpter, has also joined the Davenports Law team as an Associate.

We are very enthusiastic about this next chapter and look forward to introducing you to our new team.
